Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Software Development Engineer

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is reimagining cloud networking to be more secure, scalable, and performant. As a Software Development Engineer on the DRG gateways team, you will contribute to the systems that route most customer traffic in and out of the Oracle Cloud. This role offers the opportunity to grow your backend systems and networking expertise while collaborating with senior engineers and mentors on a team that values clarity, ownership, and continuous learning. You'll help build and maintain services that power critical cloud infrastructurehandling routing protocols (like BGP), virtual networking, and internal control plane systems. You'll be part of a team that prioritizes quality, operational excellence, and customer trust. Design, develop, test, and deploy well-structured and maintainable code in a distributed networking stack. Implement enhancements and bug fixes to routing and networking-related systems, under the guidance of senior engineers. Collaborate closely with teammates on design reviews, code reviews, testing, and operational support. Participate in operational monitoring and on-call rotations to gain real-world experience with highly available cloud systems. Write clear documentation and contribute to runbooks, tools, and test automation for improved team velocity. Actively seek feedback and mentorship to continuously grow your technical and professional skills. Preferred Qualifications: 24 years of professional software development experience, including internships or co-ops. Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Go, C, Java, Python). Basic understanding of distributed systems, networking concepts, or cloud infrastructure. Familiarity with software engineering best practices: version control, testing, code reviews. Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only. US: Hiring Range in USD from: $73,700 to $158,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity. Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
