Are you an XML-savvy technical writer ready to take flight in the aerospace industry? A leading global aerospace company is seeking a Technical Publications Author to support documentation efforts for a high-profile aircraft program. This is a unique opportunity to work within a cutting-edge team developing essential technical publications for aircraft systems and subsystems. Responsibilities: Develop and update comprehensive maintenance publications including theory of operation, flight manuals, schematics, testing procedures, and troubleshooting guides Collect, analyze, and validate source data to support documentation and logistics analysis Assist in provisioning recommendations and logistics support evaluations for aerospace systems Resolve inconsistencies in source data and mark up technical illustrations Participate in peer and customer reviews, revising content based on feedback and technical updates Use publication platforms and content management systems to ensure delivery of high-quality, accurate documentation Qualifications: Bachelors degree in a related field OR equivalent experience (Masters + 1 year, or 7+ years total) 5+ years of experience in technical writing or documentation development, ideally within aerospace or defense 2-5 years of hands-on experience with eXtensible Markup Language (XML) Familiarity with Contenta content management system strongly preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office; exposure to Arbortext or similar authoring tools is a plus Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex technical data Bonus Details: Work on an iconic aircraft program within a high-performing engineering team Source data comes in varied formats; creativity and adaptability will serve you well GitLab environment for job assignment tracking and collaboration
