This role can be remote or based out of our offices in New York City, Dublin, or London. Our platform detects events from various data types, including images, video, sensor data, audio, and text in over 150 languages. Learn more here. The opportunity Conduct research to advance the state of the art and solve specific problems in areas such as Natural Language Processing, Machine and Deep Learning. Collaborate with a diverse, interdisciplinary team to deliver value to customers through existing and new products. Contribute to the research community via publications, participation in program committees, etc. Focus on human-centered solutions that have practical impact and significant end-user benefits. Productionize and deploy research into Dataminr's products for global users. Senior candidates are expected to lead technical areas and/or teams. Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field Experience in AI topics like cyber security, LLMs, agentic AI, generation, translation, summarization, topic detection, knowledge management, search, machine learning, or deep learning. Strong publication record in top venues (IEEE, AAAI, NeurIPS, ACL, etc.). Ability to work independently, experiment, and measure progress effectively. Proficiency in Python and experience with AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch and Hugging Face Transformers. Experience with vLLM is a plus. Professional industry experience; recent graduates should have relevant internships.
