Position Details

Full-time, Nights 3x12 hour shifts (6pm-6am) 100% inpatient Team includes 54 cardiologists and 27 advanced practice providers Patient population includes adult cardiology patients aged 17 through end of life; (HTN, CHF, CAD, Arrhythmias, Syncope, Valvular Disease, HLD, Advanced Heart Failure, Cardiogenic shock, as well as interventional/EP/adult congenital)

Key Responsibilities

Complete admission notes/orders and perform consultative services in the hospital to co-manage the care of the cardiac population in the hospital setting. Answer cross cover calls on cardiology inpatients as needs arise during the shift Collaborate with APP colleagues on the cardiology service line as well as consulting service lines to provide care for our population. Collaborate with attending Cardiologist regarding patient needs during the overnight period that require immediate attention from the cardiologist.

Qualifications

Provider should have excellent critical thinking skills and be able to multitask in a high intensity setting. Must have communication skills to ensure plans of care are carried through, as well as to foster relationships across the multi-disciplinary team. Collaboration and confidence in their clinical skill set, and ability to function at the top of scope, is necessary.

Master's Degree Required ACNP, AGNP, FNP, or PA certifications required If new graduate, clinical rotation in cardiology and/or nursing experience in cardiac units or ICU required

With 1,000 beds, IU Health Methodist Hospital is a large tertiary referral center with over 130 ICU beds. It serves as the largest trauma center in Indianapolis, as well as a highly subspecialized center for cardiovascular surgery, thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, lung transplantation, and neurocritical care.

IU Health is building a new downtown hospital and campus, which will consolidate operations of the adjacent IU Health Methodist and University Hospitals. Construction for the new hospital is well underway and set to open in late 2027. It will feature three 16-story towers with 864 beds.
