The AI Full-Stack III role is part of the Trip Attach Post-Booking Experiences team, which sits within the Book-To-Trip, Trip Companion Engineering organization. This team is helping build in-path and post-booking experiences across Expedia Group's traveler-facing products to enable travelers to use Expedia . Leveraging AI to make our booking recommendations that are more personalized, relevant and contextual to the traveler's journey, with clear member attach savings and benefits, we'll enable travelers to book more of their trip with EG. We're a full-stack team using AI focused on building scalable, accessible, intelligent and delightful attach experiences, and we're looking for a full-stack web engineer with experience building AI apps in production. In this role, you will: Develop, test, and maintain complex software applications using clean, modular, and optimized code aligned with design principles and best practices. Apply deep knowledge of databases, software frameworks, and technology platforms to build scalable and efficient solutions. Continuously learn and adopt new technical skills, sharing knowledge to elevate team capabilities and effectiveness. Lead and participate in code reviews, guiding code evolution and ensuring high-quality standards. Collaborate across teams and stakeholders to identify and implement holistic solutions that improve systems, processes, and efficiency. Analyze technical issues and operational inefficiencies, contributing to root cause analyses and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Experience and qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience or Master's degree with 3+ years of experience in software development or equivalent professional experience. Back-End Proficiency: Demonstrated experience in API development and proficiency with OO languages such as Java, Kotlin, or Python to build scalable and reliable services. REST is expected and GraphQL proficiency is an ideal add-on. Front-End Proficiency: Proficient in JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern web development frameworks such as ReactJS; experience with mobile-first Progressive Web Apps (PWA) is a plus. AI Proficiency: Demonstrated experience in developing, maintaining and supporting at least one AI-powered system, including prompt engineering, LLM workflows, prompt evaluations, RAG, etc. Embrace ownership with ability to manage ambiguity in business requirements, align technical solutions with business needs, developing work-plan, collaborating across teams to identify and solve project-level solutions. Skilled in designing, testing, and deploying APIs and moderately complex systems that are observable and easy to maintain. Strong understanding of software development tools and practices, including automation testing frameworks, monitoring solutions, and debugging techniques. Demonstrated learner's mind-set who is seeking an open and knowledge-sharing based team culture. The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $137,500.00 to $192,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $220,000.00, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role. Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
