Job Description
Restaurant Overview:

We welcome you to Toro, Richard Sandoval’s Restaurant and Rum Bar, that features a casually unique upbeat dining experience. Toro will have a small plate menu along with a Suviche (Sushi & Ceviche combination) bar food offering at the restaurant’s lively and energetic Rum Bar setting. The beverage experience will include a variety of hand-muddled cocktails, a collection of Latin wines and a variety of sugarcane spirits that will be expertly chosen by our resident Rum Diosa.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Toro General Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Creative responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
RSR mixologist for seasonal menu changes
Lead property bartender media personality
Primary outlet site inspection mixology master
RSR spirit product and cocktail educational trainer
RSR Product Positioning Liaison – in coordination with Director of F&B Operations
RSR vender relations support – in coordination with Director of F&B Operations
Act as an “example” for the bar staff, driving culture and policy
Ensure bar policies and procedures are being followed by the bartending staff throughout each shift.
Managing the guest experience as driven by the colleagues’ sequences of service
Development of existing staff and recruitment/hiring of qualified future team members
Collaborate, create and ever evolve overall beverage program for the bar
Establish, monitor, audit and accountability of timeliness of service standards
Set beverage pars and monitor through regular inventory/ordering with Plaza Bar management
Establish proper bar organization, and build out to maximize efficiency
Mentor and develop team to deliver a high-quality guest experience, with an emphasis on LQA service standards and voice of the guest (VOG) experience
Ensure service staff abides by all Arizona Liquor Laws and have current ABC Liquor Certification
Operational Duties Include, but are not limited to:
Collaborate with fellow venue management to ensure that the daily opening and closing duties are completed for the entire operation.
Monitor and maintain daily product par levels as established by venue management
Maintain bar equipment and small wares inventory and communicate needs to venue management
Maintain a secure, safe, and responsible bar operation
Collaborate with Director of Beverage and GM to establish bar set-up and layouts that are efficient for each new menu rollout
Direct responsibility over training of the barback and bartender teams to follow venue guidelines
Maintaining a clean work environment before, during, and after operating hours
Maintain and be the champion of Ecosure and health inspections to train the staff on the standards
Perform internal health inspections to ensure the bar is hitting the standards
Qualifications: Qualifications
Previous bartending experience preferred
Excellent knowledge of all beverage products
Previous point of sale system experiences an asset
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
Highly responsible & reliable
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
Constant standing and walking throughout shift
Frequent lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs.
Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
Visa Requirements:
Proof of eligibility to work in the United States is required.
