The Charleston, SC VA Healthcare System
The Charleston, SC VA Health Care System is seeking multiple full-time Primary Care physicians for the following locations:
Myrtle Beach, SC- 4 openings Goose Creek, SC- 2 openings North Charleston, SC- 3 openings Beaufort, SC- 2 openings Savannah, GA- 3 openings Hinesville, GA- 2 openings
Duties include but are not limited to the following: Perform and record history and physical examinations, and document data from clinic visits. Evaluate, consult, develop diagnoses, and manage the primary care panel of assigned patients. Enter progress notes in the electronic medical record and complete workload documentation promptly. Provide medical care for acute and chronic conditions, including preventive care for veterans. Order diagnostic tests, medications, and laboratory tests relevant to each patient. Follow up on results and patient inquiries via view alerts, secure messages, and other communication channels. Develop treatment plans based on accepted protocols. Prescribe medications in accordance with formulary and legal regulations. Educate patients on medical conditions and treatments, including nutrition, smoking cessation, immunizations, screenings, and disease management. Consult with specialists as needed. Provide care for female patients as part of duties, possibly as a Women’s Health Designated Provider. Preferred Experience:
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine and/or Family Medicine. Key Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must be Board Certified or Eligible. Must hold a full, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state. Paid Time Off: 26 days paid annual leave (vacation/personal) 13 days paid sick leave annually, unlimited accumulation 11 paid Federal holidays 5 days paid leave for CME attendance Insurance: Health Insurance: Multiple plans available with VA contribution; lifetime options. Dental & Vision: Comprehensive plans with partial VA contribution. Flexible Spending Accounts for medical, dental, and vision expenses.
