A growing Consumer Products and retail operations company has partnered with Conexus to add a VP Accounting to their team. This company is also a multi-site operation and we need someone that understands how to lead accounting in this environment. This year will also be a transition period as the company will most likely be transition to an ESOP organization. Purpose Of Your Position:

The VP Accounting will report to the President/Founder and be the driving force behind improving processes and supporting business growth. This person will have ownership over accounting and support on some corporate budgeting/forecasting/cash flow analysis. Primary Responsibilities:

Financial Oversight & Month-End Close: Lead the financial close process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP for a multi-entity structure. Oversee G/L, A/P, A/R, payroll, reconciliations, and financial reporting across multiple locations and systems. Support with likely transition to an ESOP organization. Multi-Entity & Consolidation Accounting: Manage financial reporting for a complex business structure, including retail, distribution, and real estate holdings. Ensure proper accounting for intercompany transactions and consolidations. Financial Review & Process Optimization: Conduct a comprehensive review of historical financials and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and efficiency in financial reporting. Establish best practices for ongoing operations. Inventory & Cost Accounting: Oversee inventory valuation and cost accounting, working closely with operations teams to ensure accurate tracking of product costs and margins. Internal Controls & Compliance: Assess and implement robust internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets, optimize financial operations, and mitigate risk. M&A & Transactional Accounting: Support accounting for business acquisitions, licensing agreements, and real estate transactions, ensuring appropriate recognition and integration. Tax & Regulatory Compliance: Oversee multi-state tax compliance, including sales tax, excise tax, and corporate tax filings, working with external advisors as needed. Audit & External Reporting: Serve as the key financial liaison for any external audits, financial reviews, and compliance reporting. Ensure accurate, timely delivery of financial statements and supporting documentation. Cash Management & Banking: Manage daily cash flow, banking relationships, and financial forecasting to support strategic growth and operational needs. ERP Implementation & System Enhancements: Lead financial system improvements and ERP transitions, ensuring streamlined processes and data integrity. Team Leadership & Development: Direct and mentor a small but growing accounting team, identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies, enhance controls, and support business scaling. Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field 10+ years’ accounting experience ERP systems skills and knowledge of QuickBooks, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Sage, or similar cloud based ERPs Public accounting experience preferred Experience with ESOP organizations Experienced finance leader in a consumer products, retail, or multi-location business environment. Strong knowledge of inventory costing, intercompany transactions, and multi-state tax considerations. Proven ability to build scalable financial processes and oversee system transitions. Strong team leadership skills and promoting camaraderie and teamwork with geographically dispersed team members Strong understanding and application of GAAP Benefits for the Employee
