Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan repayment program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval, award amount (up to $200,000), and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services after review of the application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply.

U.S. Citizenship: Non-citizens may be appointed only if qualified citizens cannot be recruited, per VA policy. Degree of Doctor of Medicine or equivalent from an approved school. Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S. Residency Training: Completion of an accredited residency program approved by the VA, leading to eligibility for board certification. Residency must be approved by ACGME, AOA, or equivalent, with at least five years of verified practice in the U.S. for non-US residencies. Enrolled residents in accredited programs may be appointed as 'Physician Resident Providers' (PRPs), who must be fully licensed and work on an intermittent or fee basis. PRPs are not independent practitioners and do not have privileges. Proficiency in spoken and written English.
