Job Title: Solution Architect - Pre-Sales, Cloud and Data Center Practice Location: Remote in AZ Employment Type: Contract and Full Time Emplpoyment Experience: 7+ years minimum Company - iShift About iShift: iShift is a dynamic and growing IT services provider dedicated to helping our clients navigate the complexities of modern technology infrastructure. Our Cloud and Data Center Practice focuses on delivering innovative and robust solutions that drive business value. Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Solution Architect to join our Cloud and Data Center Practice team. This role is pivotal in both supporting our pre-sales activities and leading the successful delivery of cloud and data center migration projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in core data center and cloud technologies, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to design and implement complex solutions for clients. This is a hybrid role requiring proximity to our Phoenix, AZ location. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate closely with the sales team during the pre-sales cycle to understand client requirements and business objectives. Design and architect technical solutions leveraging cloud (Azure, AWS) and data center technologies (VMware). Develop and present solution proposals, technical diagrams, statements of work (SOWs), and presentations to prospective clients. Conduct technical workshops, demos, and proof-of-concepts (POCs). Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients. Project Delivery: Lead or play a key technical role in the delivery and implementation of cloud (Azure, AWS) and data center migration projects. Develop detailed architecture designs, implementation plans, and migration strategies. Provide technical oversight and guidance to implementation teams. Ensure solutions are delivered on time, within scope, and meet client expectations. Technical Leadership: Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in cloud computing, data center infrastructure, and related areas. Contribute to the development of best practices, standards, and reusable solution components within the practice. Mentor junior team members where appropriate. Required Qualifications: Experience:
5-10 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, with a significant focus on solution architecture, design, and implementation. Technical Skills: Demonstrated expertise in
VMware
virtualization technologies (vSphere, vCenter, potentially NSX, vSAN). Strong experience with
Microsoft 365
architecture and migration scenarios. Proven experience designing, implementing, and migrating workloads to
Microsoft Azure
OR
Amazon Web Services (AWS) . Proficiency in both is highly desirable. Solid understanding of core infrastructure concepts (networking, storage, security, identity management). Core Competencies: Demonstrable experience in leading or delivering complex cloud and/or data center migration projects. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical1 audiences. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to2 work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work environment. Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; OR Equivalent professional experience3 combined with relevant, current industry certifications (e.g., VMware VCP, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional). Preferred Qualifications: Experience with OpenStack cloud platforms. Proficiency in Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu). Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Kubernetes, Docker). Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Azure Resource Manager, AWS CloudFormation). Familiarity with DevOps principles, practices, and CI/CD pipelines. Relevant certifications in preferred technology areas (e.g., CKA, RHCE).
