Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval, including award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years), is determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply. Qualifications To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements and any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending completion of training or licensing may be tentatively referred and selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are met. Current VA-employed physicians who met the initial appointment requirements under previous standards are deemed to have met the basic requirements. Basic Requirements: U.S. Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited, in accordance with VA policy. Degree of Doctor of Medicine or equivalent from an approved medical or osteopathic school. The degree must be obtained from a school approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year of completion. Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia. Residency Training: Completion of an approved residency program leading to eligibility for board certification. Approved residencies include those by ACGME, AOA, or other programs deemed appropriate by the local Medical Staff Executive Committee. Residents enrolled in ACGME/AOA residencies who otherwise meet requirements are eligible for appointment as 'Physician Resident Providers' (PRPs), who must be fully licensed and may only be appointed on an intermittent or fee basis. PRPs are not independent practitioners and will not have privileges; they perform certain duties under supervision. Surgery residents in gap years may also be appointed as PRPs. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Additional Requirement: Board Eligible or Board Certified in Geriatric Medicine. Eligibility to acquire and maintain a University affiliation. Preferred Experience: Home-Based Primary Care, Geriatric care, and 3 years working with Veteran patients. Physical Requirements: Ability to perform essential functions safely, with normal vision, hearing, speech, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift 15-44 pounds. Duties

Serve as Medical Director for the Home-Based Primary Care Program (HBPC) and Geriatric Care programs, providing leadership, program management, quality assurance, and performance improvement. Manage a panel of Veteran patients with complex comorbidities. Oversee the Geri-PACT Consultation Clinic and Geriatric Medicine Fellows. Act as subject matter expert for home-based and community-based care services for Veterans. Supervise HBPC medical providers in Oklahoma City and Lawton, OK, with travel as needed. Lead planning, quality improvement, and program development for HBPC. Serve as Chair of the HBPC Committee and lead monthly meetings. Manage clinical and administrative data reports related to HBPC. Supervise new Geriatric and Home-based Care providers and Fellows at VA facilities. Engage in fellowship training and maintain a University affiliation.
