Overview
The Opportunity:
The PMG Product Owner works in the office and serves the end-users, customers and stakeholders of the product they are responsible for by maximizing the value of the product. You will effectively manage the product backlog, which includes developing and explicitly communicating the product vision and goals, creating and communicating product backlog items, and prioritizing items within the product backlog while ensuring it is transparent, visible and understood. You will report to the VP of Business Process Management.
The Day-to-Day:
Create long-term vision (1-3 years) for the product based on market research and the voice of the customer. Create mid-term roadmap (6-12 months) to accomplish product vision and implement product features
Align long- and mid-term product plan with partners in the organization and ensure support
Create and manage capacity plans and negotiate budgeting with senior leadership to implement product roadmap
Create product release plans and ensure change preparation is in place
Monitor product performance and customer satisfaction by defining and gathering product metrics through surveys and trend analysis
Research, define, prioritize and document product features while considering the needs of existing customers, competitive market offerings and overall company strategy
Work with the team to decompose features and large user stories into right-sized stories for development increments. Ensure backlog of product features and user stories stays current through recurring backlog refinement
Prioritize work in the product backlog with a focus on maximizing value
Assign features and user stories to releases and ensure delivery of product updates following the product release plan
Define the necessary requirements that must be met to confirm a user story is complete
Identify and work with other product owners and technology leaders to manage dependencies and resolve any cross-unit issues
Partner to ensure appropriate architectural and technical design, participates in quality assurance activities, and ensures availability of delivery of appropriate product training
Manage third-party vendor requirements and coordinate deliverables with the appropriate company managers
Maintain vendor relationships with off-the-shelf products to ensure understanding of the product roadmap and upgrade schedule
Pro-actively partner with all necessary functions and third parties to ensure product delivery
Promote cross-team collaboration within and outside the immediate Scrum team
Promote an Agile mindset and live by Agile principles; lead by example and inspire others to do the same
Coordinate with other departments to mature current delivery practices including software development and DevOps
Your Qualifications:
5+ years of experience as a Scrum Product Owner
Experience developing, deploying and supporting Charles River Technology Solutions
A deep understanding of Agile principles, values, and practices
Experience developing products within deadlines
Conflict resolution skills and proven experience working with diverse team members
Experience developing relationships with team members and customers
Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills
Bachelor's degree in business or technology major or equivalent work experience
