How this role will be impactful

The Broiler Manager's primary responsibility is to provide direction and oversight for all live operations for assigned location(s). This role is accountable for meeting or exceeding profitability goals while maintaining compliance with all company policies, animal welfare and federal and state regulations, laws and guidelines for all farms. Is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling production activities to ensure development and timely delivery of top-quality birds for processing on a least-cost basis.

Key Requirements:

Manages day-to-day operations of scheduling live birds to be processed. Oversee the daily operations of poultry farms, including feeding, housing and general care of poultry. Ensure compliance with USDA regulations and industry best practices. Analyze data and make recommendations to improve production and profitability. Monitor and manage poultry health and welfare. Perform maintenance and repairs on farm equipment, structures and buildings. Coordinate staff activities, including training and performance reviews. Plan and coordinate marketing activities for products from the farm. Work with vet services to ensure optimal animal health. Work with feed mill to optimize feeding programs. Monitor and control expenses to maximize profitability. Develop and implement strategies to reduce mortality rate and improve productivity. Monitor and enforce biosecurity measures and protocols. Manage AI testing schedule and monitor the flock schedule. Manages financial performance by controlling costs, budgeting, business, and financial planning, and tracking financial activity. Plans, sets and monitors goals, then communicates results to Operations. Trains and develops service techs. Review service reports regularly and assist service techs with addressing issues as they arise. Establishes and maintains open communication with all farm staff, management, other departments, external customers and suppliers, and the local community to identify potential problems and initiate improvements. Ensures that company programs are being followed on farms Directs the placement of new chicks and the ordering of crucial supplies. Monitors day-to-day flock health and plant efficiency. Manage program to ensure adequate downtime. Performs all other activities and responsibilities as defined by manager

What You Bring to the Role

Bachelor's Degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science, related field or equivalent and relevant work experience and 3+ years of poultry industry experience required. Previous supervisory skills required. Excellent oral and written communication skills and proven ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, with cross functional teams and upper management required. Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook). SAP experience preferred Knowledge of poultry industry regulations and standards Familiarity with animal health management Ability to assess and manage risk Financial management and budgeting skills Good communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Knowledge of poultry breeding and nutrition Experience in personnel management and staff training Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Work Environment:

The Broiler Managermust be able to work in various temperatures when visiting the farms. Able to work in wet and humid environment. Able to work in noisy and dusty environments. Able to stand for long periods of time. Able to wear all required PPE.
