Immediate Supervisor (Chief or Night Supervisor)

Current custodial salary schedule

Primary Function:

Performs custodian duties as assigned; develops and implements custodial services which will provide clean, comfortable, healthful, safe and attractive buildings and grounds.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively. Ability to do basic computation. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies. Must have knowledge of duties and responsibilities of Custodial staff. Demonstrate regularity in attendance and promptness in reporting. Demonstrate the ability to perform his/her tasks independently with a minimum of supervision. Performance Responsibilities:

Performs general custodial responsibilities; i.e., scrub, wax, buff, dust, sweep or clean floors, walls, blinds, furniture, lavatories, locker rooms, lockers, shelves, offices, fixtures and glass surfaces as required. Performs grounds and maintenance responsibilities such as snow removal. Report athletic field marking as needed, etc. Demonstrates the abilities to operate machinery such as: vacuums, waxers, buffers, scrubbers, etc. Assists in delivery of bulk materials to designated areas. Reports to the immediate supervisor any conditions that require the attention of maintenance personnel. Performs crossing guard duty, as required. Works with all school personnel and students to maintain positive school relationships. Moves furniture/equipment within building, as needed. Demonstrates regularity in attendance and promptness in reporting. Demonstrates the ability to handle (oral/written) communications. Demonstrates the ability to cary out directives from the immediate supervisor. Demonstrates the ability to adapt to changes in daily routine. Demonstrates the ability to perform his/her tasks independently. Follows all District and building safety regulations Assists outside organizations, using school facilities, as assigned. Should be able to lift 50 lbs. Performs related work as assigned.
