Job Summary:
The Lab Technician is responsible for executing benchtop formulations for both internal and external parties. This role plays a key part in maintaining product quality and sensory standards across all SKUs and batches. The Lab Technician will also support lab operations by maintaining ingredient libraries, organizing samples, and ensuring a clean and functional workspace. This individual will work closely with the Product Development Manager, Lab Manager, and Food Scientist to uphold and improve SOPs and product quality standards.Key Responsibilities: Execute benchtop formulations based on team specifications Receive, organize, and maintain ingredients and finished products Maintain sensory logs and conduct evaluations for all finished goods Coordinate and send samples for third-party lab testing Manage and update the ingredient library (both physical and digital) Monitor shelf life chamber and pull samples accordingly Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lab at all times Minimum Qualifications: Strong sensory skills for taste, smell, and visual evaluation of raw materials and finished products Ability to maintain accurate digital and physical records Basic understanding of lab data and testing processes Education & Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Food Science, Food Engineering, or a related field preferred 1+ year of applicable experience in food, beverage, or dietary supplements preferred Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Skills & Abilities: Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite (Word, Excel, Sheets, etc.) Strong sensory evaluation abilities (taste/smell) No food aversions, allergies, or sensitivities to caffeine or melatonin, due to required ingestion of samples Strong scientific research and troubleshooting skills Able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, startup environment Self-starter with excellent time management and organizational skills Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods Must be able to lift and transport materials up to 45 lbs Location:
