Polysomnographic Technologist

We are seeking a Polysomnographic Technologist, sometimes referred to as our Sleep Lab Tech, Sleep Technologist or Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) in our Sleep Laboratory department. The Polysomnographic Technologist (or Sleep Technologist) is a specialized healthcare professional who conducts and analyzes sleep studies to diagnose and monitor patients with sleep disorders. Polysomnographic Techs identify conditions such as sleep apnea, narcolepsy, periodic limb movement disorder, insomnia, and REM behavior disorder. Shifts Available: Nights Employment Type: Full Time Hours: 12-hour shifts: 7:00pm to 7:00am Location: Riverview Regional Medical Center - Gadsden, AL Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Prepare the sleep lab or hospital room, review patient history and orders, and educate patients on the sleep study process Apply sensors to monitor brain, heart, muscle, eye, and respiratory activity while ensuring patient safety and data quality Observe and respond to sleep-related events such as apneas, oxygen desaturations, or abnormal cardiac activity during the study Record and score sleep stages and respiratory events, using software tools to prepare data for physician interpretation Initiate and adjust CPAP, BiPAP, or ASV therapy as needed and troubleshoot equipment or patient concerns during the study Collaborate with the care team and educate patients on sleep disorders, home testing, and positive airway pressure therapy compliance Qualifications

You must have: High school diploma or equivalent BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current Certified or Registered Polysomnography Technologist; or, one year of experience in an applicable setting Additional Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Eligible for certification through the BRPT
