Sr Buyer/Contract Specialist
We are looking for a Sr Buyer/Contract Specialist to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location. Your responsibilities will include reviewing and negotiating terms and conditions with suppliers, ensuring compliance and favorable terms for the organization. Additionally, the individual will support purchasing activities, including processing of requisitions, requests for quotes, purchase orders, supplier/part status, and supplier relationships. Your challenge includes being the departmental lead for evaluating and negotiating contract/business terms and conditions with suppliers, interfacing with Curtiss Wright Corporate Legal Team as required, and supporting procurement activities such as evaluating bids, selecting and recommending suppliers, negotiating price, delivery, quality, and service, and following up on all awards until completion of order. You will also negotiate and settle with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering changes. What you bring includes a bachelor degree in business administration, supply chain management, engineering or related field and 6+ years of purchasing experience preferably in a manufacturing environment. You should have advanced working knowledge of contract law and business terms and conditions, government procurement experience preferred, ability to make decisions or suggestions based on rules or procedures, problem solving skills, experience with ERP systems with Oracle ERP system preferred, proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office programs, organized, self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented, and strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
