Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
We are looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our global Infrastructure & Operations team. This is an exciting opportunity to support Moderna's mission of delivering mRNA medicines by helping design, manage, and optimize secure, scalable, and resilient AWS and Azure cloud and hybrid infrastructure. You'll collaborate closely with global peers, leveraging Infrastructure-as-Code and automation to ensure operational excellence across both public cloud platforms and on-premises environments. Here's What You'll Do: Manage and support AWS and Azure infrastructure with a focus on performance, availability, and security. Operate and integrate on-premises systems with AWS and Azure environments. Troubleshoot OS-level and networking issues across Linux and Windows systems. Execute patching and maintenance across all platforms to ensure compliance. Use tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, and Packer, along with ARM templates or Bicep for Azure, to provision infrastructure. Create automation scripts using Python, Bash, or PowerShell for both AWS and Azure operations. Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and enforce Infrastructure-as-Code principles across cloud environments. Configure and operate monitoring, logging, and alerting tools across Cloud Infrastructure. Work with security and compliance teams to meet standards across both cloud platforms. Collaborate with U.S. and global team members on multi-cloud projects and operational enhancements. Document procedures, automation, and configurations for AWS and Azure environments to support internal knowledge growth. Here's What You'll Need (Minimum Qualifications): 36 years in cloud infrastructure or cloud operations roles. Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch) and similar Azure services (e.g., VMs, Resource Groups, Azure Monitor, VNets). Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Azure-native tools (ARM/Bicep). Scripting experience in Python, PowerShell, or Bash. Solid understanding of Linux/Windows systems and cloud networking. Here's What You'll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications): AWS and/or Azure certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, SysOps Admin). Experience with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, AWS CodePipeline, or Jenkins. Familiarity with security frameworks (GxP, HIPAA, ISO). Excellent troubleshooting and collaboration skills. Experience supporting infrastructure in life sciences or regulated environments is a plus. Education: Bachelor's or Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Base compensation for these positions in Washington State range from $121,600.00 to $194,500.00. Actual salary determinations will take into account factors such as work location, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge, and demonstrated skills. Compensation decisions are made on the facts and circumstances of each case.
