Data Center Technician
Role Overview: We are seeking a seasoned L4 Data Center Technician to join our enterprise team focused on large-scale GPU deployments. This role demands deep expertise in troubleshooting and maintaining high-performance computing infrastructure within a dynamic data center environment. Key Responsibilities: Execute decommissioning tasks including physical removal of network cables and DBD components (no scanning required). Run, label, and stage power and networking cables according to established protocols. Follow detailed procedures for hardware installation, diagnostics, troubleshooting, replacement, and decommissioning under the guidance of Data Center Technician Leads. Perform basic hardware startups and shutdowns using written instructions, checklists, and standard operating procedures. Conduct physical audits of data center assets to ensure accuracy and compliance. Monitor systems for equipment failures or performance issues and respond to error messages appropriately. Assist developers and analysts in testing and debugging new programs. Operate software tools (e.g., spreadsheets, reporting tools) to manipulate data and generate reports. Required Qualifications: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent (Associate's degree in computer programming or related field preferred). Minimum 7 years of hands-on data center experience. Solid understanding of computer hardware, servers, and components. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word). Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Willingness to travel up to 75% to data center sites across the U.S. Preferred Skills: Experience with GPU infrastructure and enterprise-scale deployments. Familiarity with cable management and hardware staging. Strong problem-solving and customer service orientation. Additional Information: Candidates must be open to working at all Milwaukee-based data center locations. Travel will be required to support other data center sites nationwide once the team is fully ramped up. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $50.00/hr.
