Network Infrastructure Specialist
Responsible for the daily administration, deployment, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of the network infrastructure; assist with analyzing network hardware, software, and processes to engineer solutions within the network infrastructure to improve its efficiency, resiliency, security, and productivity. Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Specializes with in-depth knowledge and demonstrates expertise in one or more fields of concentration within networking infrastructure, including but not limited to: Datacenter Infrastructure Datacenter Networking Campus Networking Network Security Network Asset Management Network Compliance Network Automation Wireless Networking Edge Networking Demonstrates proficient ability to understand and apply advance: Firewall configurations Router configurations Switch configurations Modem configurations Routing and switching protocols Network traffic flow and utilization troubleshooting IP Design, connectivity, and services Access Controls Physical Structure Data Cabling Design Demonstrates ability to navigate basic networking commands and configuration of operating systems outside of major networking hardware vendors including BSD, UNIX, and Linux based operating systems along with various hypervisors. Assist with integration of networking design and consulting for other departments within the organization as needed to provide the knowledge for better decision making with existing, ongoing, and future projects. Assists and drive decision making and changes in the network infrastructure by providing valuable input and experience Assist with generating and documenting appropriate action plans for deployment of new processes, hardware, and software. Stage, deploy, maintain, configure, troubleshoot, and document: Network hardware including but not limited to: firewalls, routers, switches, modems, gateways, access points, uninterruptible power supplies, environmental monitors, network appliances, and physical data cabling. Software, tools, and applications pertaining to monitoring and management of network hardware and services. Generation of reports for network intrusions, disruptions, degradation, and utilization within the internal and external network infrastructure. Network Related Services including but not limited to: dedicated circuits, broadband circuits, cellular services, and wireless services. Demonstrates proficient ability to adapt, navigate, configure, and update new and existing networking software tools and dashboards. Engage vendors and/or service providers to design, order, stage, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot network software, hardware, and services. Monitor, communicate, and resolve degradation and outages of the network infrastructure. Maintain and create documentation of network processes, layouts, designs, and changes. Generate reports of the network infrastructure's operational status, events, alarms, incidents, assets, and compliance. Travel for assessment, planning, deployment, and maintenance of network software, hardware, and services. Maintain communication of active and completed activities on a regular basis to team members, project managers, and supervisors. Self-manages time to ensure prompt and accurate completion of projects, tasks, and responsibilities. Actively pursue knowledge through training, experience, certifications, and/or accreditations to enhance skills and abilities within the network industry's technologies and services. Respond accordingly to network related incidents, reports, and requests by team members, end users, vendors, and affiliated entities. Offer technical support and training to team members, end users, vendors, and affiliated entities. Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
