Second Shift Supply Chain Operations Specialist

We are immediately hiring a Second Shift Supply Chain Operations Specialist in Madison, AL for our Supply Chain Solutions division. Responsible for monitoring shipment arrivals and departures, coordinating expedites upon customer request, and managing email communications. Proactively escalate delays that may impact production and investigate any missing shipments or abnormalities. Routes include local deliveries handled by Ryder drivers between the main location and a nearby cross-dock (within 10 miles), as well as direct routes which our outsourced but managed by Ryder as well. Pay Type: Exempt / Salary paid Twice Per Month Annual Salary Pay: $60,000 Schedule: Monday through Friday from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm. Employee will be required to work additional hours and days as needed to support business needs. This role has a unique skillset to provide specialized/customized service for SCS customers and/or site location. Position responsibility may include advanced troubleshooting on systematic processes, resolution decision making to avoid logistical errors, specialized reporting or processes for MGT, etc. This position could provide direct supervision and will assist with new hire training, processes, routines, etc. May interact with carriers and/or the customer based on the complexity and scope of the account. All work is subject to review by location Ryder Corporate Process Owners such as Finance, Human Resources, Safety, Ops etc. Error could result in customer dissatisfaction, loss of inventory, loss of profit, safety or security incident. Essential Functions: Communicate daily/shift goals of facility and work group(s). Communicate and report plans to obtain operational goals. Assist with and train hourly, SNE or other specialists Lead and initiate employees through in depth training and continuous review of employee understanding of policies, procedures and processes. Decision Making for location activities to include but not limited to demand planning, supplier calls, customer interactions, specialized process troubleshooting, etc. Support and aid in the development of system and process training for employees in the work group(s). Perform operational administrative functions to support location activities and/or customer. Identify and/or solve operational issues with the account(s) by implementing continuous improvement and LEAN initiatives, to strengthen team unity, goals, productivity and results. Additional Responsibilities: Maybe used as a floater to complete all Supply Chain Ops Associate roles across multiple shifts Performs other duties as assigned.
