The Role We're seeking a Sr. Lead Product Manager, Platform to define and execute the technology strategy and roadmap for the Lumen Platform. This critical role is about building the foundational digital capabilities that solve complex customer challenges and establish Lumen as a distinguished leader in the global marketplace. This role focuses on enhancing the experiences of users, developers, and employees across Lumen's enterprise customer portal, developer portal, and API products. The individual in this role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to drive development & integration, establish and maintain alignment between the customer experience and development roadmaps, ensure adherence to standard design principles, support efficient & effective operational execution within a scalable framework, and serve as an advocate for customers, developers, and employees. The Main Responsibilities Architecting the Future: Work collaboratively and cross-functionally across product management, product development, engineering, marketing, and operations to define the vision for Lumen Platform aligned with organizational goals and strategic priorities with a pulse on emerging technologies and feature requirements. Bridging Technical & Business Needs: Translate complex customer needs and business requirements into clear, actionable technical specifications and API designs, ensuring that portal experiences and API products are valuable, easy-to-use, and technically sound. Deep Customer & Developer Engagement: Engage regularly with customers and developers using the platform to understand their technical challenges, integration pain-points, and evolving needs, leveraging these insights to inform the platform's technical development roadmap. Championing API-First Strategy: Advocate for and drive API-first strategy, ensuring technical excellence in the design, development, and consumption of platform APIs and applications. This includes defining API standards, taxonomy, governance, and best practices. Driving Technical Execution: Lead the execution of the platform's technical roadmap, defining detailed capabilities, features, and technical requirements. Collaborate closely with design teams, engineering teams, and stakeholders through all phases. Platform Lifecycle Management: Apply effective practices to ensure solutions related to platform portals and API products are robust upon release, with changes carefully evaluated for justification and impact. Ensuring Platform Stability & Evolution: Implement robust technical governance and lifecycle management practices for platform portals and API products. Ensure all changes are thoroughly vetted for technical justification, impact on platform stability, performance, and user experience. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve the end-to-end roadmap execution process, driving key learnings back into the organization. What We Look For in a Candidate Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience in a relevant technical discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering); Master's degree is a plus. 8+ years of progressive experience in Technical Product Management and/or Software Engineering within the technology or telecommunications industry, specifically working with digital platforms, developer portals, and APIs. Deep technical knowledge and understanding of API design principles (REST, GraphQL, Event Driven APIs), microservices architecture, cloud platforms, and relevant development technologies. Extensive experience with digital platforms, enterprise customer portals, and/or complex web applications, coupled with strong working knowledge of web development technologies, user experience design & research, modern software development methodologies (Agile, DevOps), and analytics tools & techniques. Proven ability to analyze complex technical data, identify and troubleshoot intricate technical issues, and develop scalable solutions that directly impact the customer and developer experience on the platform. Solid understanding of AI fundamentals and well versed with latest AI developments and industry trends is required. Experience with building GenAI products or integrating GenAI capabilities in platforms is desired. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills that enable effective collaboration with diverse technical and non-technical teams, stakeholders, and customers. Ability to create clarity and drive focus in complex and dynamic technical contexts up, down, and across the organization. Ability to manage and lead multiple technical priorities and projects while delivering against tight timelines in a complex and dynamic environment. Compensation This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors. Location Based Pay Ranges: $129,639 - $172,852 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY. $136,121 - $181,494 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI. $142,603 - $190,137 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
