Barrow Neurological Institute at Dignity Health St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona is an international leader in the treatment, research, and education of brain and spinal diseases, conditions, and injuries. The Institute is one of the busiest centers for neurology and neurosurgery in the United States. Led by Barrow President and CEO Michael T. Lawton, MD, the Institute boasts a Level I trauma center, CARF-accredited neuro-rehabilitation programs, and more certified neuroscience registered nurses (CNRN) than any other hospital in the world. The Ivy Brain Tumor Center at Barrow is home to the largest Phase 0 clinical trials program in the world. Barrow is ranked by Doximity as first in the nation for its neurosurgery residency program and 45th for neurology. The BNI Neurosurgery Department consists of 11 Operating Room suites with advanced technology, which supports and allows the Barrow Neurological Institute Neurosurgeons to perform the most complex spine and brain surgeries. We provide 24-hour neurosurgical interventions for patients of all ages including elective and urgent/emergent surgeries. Our goals are to continually improve the delivery and effectiveness of departmental services, improve the health and satisfaction of the community served, support and participate in multi-disciplinary performance efforts throughout the organization, create an environment which fosters learning among staff, patients and family members, and create a culture of safety, the prevention of medical errors and the re-design of vulnerable patient systems based on evidence or expert recommendations. Responsibilities: Prepare the operating room for assigned surgical procedures with proper instrumentation and sterilization Navigate the nuances of surgical procedures and surgeons you'll be supporting Adapt to the needs of emergency situations Provide clean-up and turnover of operating room to prepare for next patient Qualifications: Minimum: Minimum of four (4) years clinical experience as a surgical technologist American Heart Association BLS Preferred: Surgical Tech Program Graduate Graduate of accredited surgical technologist program and certified as a surgical technologist CT - ORT and four (4) years clinical experience Pay Range: $30.55 - $44.30/hour
