Columbia, SC (Hybrid - 3 days remote, 2 days onsite) Role Overview
We are seeking a
hands-on Senior Cloud Security Engineer
to design, implement, and secure large-scale cloud-based applications and infrastructure, with a focus on
AWS and Azure
environments. This role will collaborate with Product Owners, Application Owners, and Network/Security teams to translate business needs into robust, secure, and compliant cloud solutions.
Candidates should be comfortable working in
both public and hybrid cloud models , possess strong consulting skills, and have deep technical expertise in cloud security design, automation, and operations. Key Responsibilities Architect and deploy
highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure and applications. Automate
security operations by building cloud security accelerators, scripts, and reusable components. Partner with
Security Operations teams
to build, enhance, and maintain SIEM, SOAR, and XDR solutions. Troubleshoot and resolve
security and configuration issues in development, testing, and production environments. Implement
zero trust
architectures and secure infrastructure in multi-cloud environments. Develop and maintain
logging, monitoring, and auditing
solutions to meet compliance frameworks such as
NIST, HIPAA, PII, SOX, PCI, CMMC, CUI . Document
security tools, configurations, and incident reports
for operational clarity and audit readiness. Work with
state and local government security requirements
to ensure full compliance. Travel as needed for customer engagements. Required Skills & Experience 5-10 years
in information security and engineering. 5+ years
designing and maintaining AWS/Azure infrastructure security. Strong experience with
cloud-native firewalls
in AWS and Azure. Proficiency with
Palo Alto VM Series
deployment, configuration, and maintenance in AWS/Azure. Hands-on experience with
cloud security automation . Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong documentation skills for
security tools, incident management, and deployment processes . Education & Certifications (Required) Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. AWS or Azure certification (e.g.,
AWS Certified Solutions Architect ,
Microsoft Azure Security Engineer Associate ). Preferred Skills Deployment and management of: Palo Alto firewalls (VM series, Prisma Cloud) Forescout, Cisco Umbrella F5 load balancers/firewalls
Experience with
Prisma-certified cloud security engineering . Preferred Certifications CISSP
