Cybersecurity Engineer
We are seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to join our tech engineering team, reporting to the Cybersecurity Manager. This role is ideal for professionals with 45 years of experience in cybersecurity, who are passionate about implementing security strategies, solutions, and incident response protocols. The successful candidate will provide both strategic guidance and hands-on implementation of best practice security solutions. Key responsibilities: Act as a security subject matter expert, consulting with infrastructure teams to conduct security reviews and remediation during system and capability deployments. Manage and respond to third-party risk assessments and related requests. Lead Tier 1 incident response and remediation efforts. Conduct internal, external, and web application penetration testing. Perform cyber forensics and post-incident response activities. Execute threat modeling and architecture reviews, identifying and mitigating critical vulnerabilities. Oversee the lifecycle of security policies and controls, including publication, enforcement, updates, and audits. Recommend procedural and system changes to enhance data and system security. Develop and deliver company-wide security awareness programs. Stay informed on emerging technologies and current security risks to support ongoing security enhancements. Coordinate and manage information security and infrastructure projects. Develop tools to test, monitor, and enforce security policies, including effectiveness metrics. Automate security processes to minimize manual tasks. Administer SIEM systems and enforce access control policies. Monitor and respond to SIEM and service desk alerts. Participate in incident investigations, triage, forensics, response, communications, and remediation. Analyze complex software, systems, hardware, and network environments. Implement security controls to prevent unauthorized access and protect sensitive information. Research and recommend solutions to address attempted security breaches. Conduct simulated cyber-attack testing to identify and resolve vulnerabilities. Engage in phishing simulations, threat hunting, and tabletop exercises. Requirements: Bachelors degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, engineering, or equivalent experience. 4+ years of experience in cybersecurity or IT. 3+ years of experience in cloud security, infrastructure security, penetration testing, firewall management, network security, and architecture review. Strong foundation in information security principles, host/network hardening, intrusion techniques, and risk management. Familiarity with OWASP, ITIL, SANS Top 20, NIST Framework, CVE, and CCE. High attention to detail and accuracy. Deep understanding of IT security solutions. Experience in regulated industries (e.g., finance or insurance) is a plus.
