LPN Scheduler PRN
Schedules, records, and reviews patient appointments from physicians and patients with precertification requirements being met. Ensures that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the appointment scheduling system with timeliness and accuracy. Reviews all incoming orders to scheduling department for CPT, diagnosis, and credentialing accuracy. Distributes and explains forms, documents, and educational handouts to patients or family members. Provides explanation of process and addresses concerns and questions. Communicates with admitting physician's office, appropriate hospital unit staff, and/or other appropriate personnel regarding appointments to exchange necessary information and determine placement. Nonessential Functions: Perform other duties as assigned. Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service, projects, and committees as assigned. Adheres to and supports policies and procedures of the STRHS. Works scheduled shifts including overtime, when necessary. Accepts all call schedule as directed. Maintains a neat and professional appearance in compliance to the existing dress code. Organizational Expectations: Compliance to the STRH - Lawrenceburg Standards of Performance is required. Compliance to Dress Code Standards. Should this job description be filled by a PRN employee, they will be subject to the requirements of that position. Job Requirements: *Minimum Education* High school diploma or equivalent required. *Required Skills* Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) Other: Licenses: Current and active Licensed Practical Nursing license in the State of Tennessee preferred.
