Fabrication Production Planner
The Fabrication Production Planner is responsible for organizing production according to demand and parts availability. Under the direction of the Assembly Leader, this role ensures the products are produced on time for shipment in an efficient manner. Essential/Key Functions: Coordinate production workflow for one or multiple products Plan and prioritize part start dates to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay Determine production schedules and parts needed to cover production demand Assist in scheduling shift assembly starts according to production needs and material availability Monitor jobs to ensure all parts kits are sequenced correctly Address part shortage issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption Prepare and submit status and performance reports Keep paperwork organized Maintain parts book and resolve missing parts effectively Be familiar with engineering REV levels to ensure orders are current Collaborate with Warehouse, Assembly, Mt. Orab, and Buyer/Planners and other staff Analyze delays and interruptions and accordingly adjust production schedule to meet deadlines Monitor the execution of production plan and resolve any potential issues in a timely fashion Escalate complex issues to Manager for resolution Investigate production problem, analyze root causes and provide solutions Communicate production status to Group Lead on a regular basis Analyze back orders, current orders and upcoming orders to prioritize, plan, and schedule the production operations Ability to read and understand blueprints to help with shop floor employees Supervisory Responsibility: N/A Minimum (Required) Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, or related field is preferred Associate degree in business, engineering, or related field with 4-5 years of relative experience in manufacturing is preferred High school diploma or equivalent with 5-10 years relative experience in Manufacturing or combination of both education and experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles Experience with JD Edwards is preferred Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems Good at math and statistics Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Excellent communication abilities Work Environment: Employee may be regularly exposed to moving equipment, mechanical parts in motion, risk of shock and other hazards associated with a manufacturing environment such as overhead cranes, welding, machining, painting etc. Physical Demands: Some repetitive motions May be required to stand for long periods of time Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full-time hourly position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
