Business Analyst With Trading Platform Experience
We're growing rapidly and CGI is seeking a Business Analyst with Trading platform experience. Will be responsible for identifying and defining the business needs of their clients and stakeholders, and helping to determine solutions to meet business needs or resolve business problems. This work is typically within a specific business area and the role may be part of an IT project development environment or an individual contributor at the business interface. We're a close-knit team that has access to global resources. You'll have the opportunity to explore a wide range of industries, technologies, and geographies, all while enjoying the personal touch that our local operating approach offers. This position is located in Houston, TX with a hybrid model in place of an expectation to be on site in Downtown Houston, Texas 3 days per week. Candidates with Commodity Trading & Price Risk Management or Capital Markets / Investment Banks will only be considered for this role. Required Industry Knowledge: Understanding of all major global futures exchanges Knowledge of full exchange-traded derivatives trade lifecycle Minimum of 8 years' experience in Commodity Trading & Price Risk Management or Capital Markets / Investment Banks Knowledge of market data providers (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, etc.) and liquidity aggregation platforms. Understanding of financial regulations such as MiFID II, EMIR, and FCA guidelines. Role Overview: Use technical skills to ensure business requirements are understood at all levels of delivery. Assist with troubleshooting and issue resolution across development, support, and technical business users. Serve as a subject matter expert for trading systems initiatives. Communicate effectively with business, development, QA, infrastructure, and production support teams. Analyse and map RFQ, order and trade lifecycles to help formulate solutions that will improve quality & efficiency across our trading systems. Hands-on experience in delivering scalable algorithmic trading technology in a compliant and flexible way. Experience of Algo regulation, audit and compliance (e.g. MIFID2 & RTS6) is highly desirable Key Skills and Experience Required: Knowledge of Third Party Networks and EMS/OMS software vendors. (e.g., TT, NYFIX, Bloomberg, TradingScreen) Experience working with instrument static data and/or other Market Data systems & protocols experience in both Windows and Linux operating systems Experience in analysing and implementing regulatory initiatives (e.g. MIFID II, MAD/MAR) Solid relevant experience in FIX Engineering Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and propose innovative solutions. Understanding of trading lifecycle, including order capture & execution, allocation workflow, settlement, and compliance requirements Experience with application support and vendor management Strong experience in exchange certification, application Deployment and support Must have strong technical skills in scripting, Python, PowerShell, C#, SQL or other programming languages Experience in messaging systems, and experience debugging network protocols such as TCP, multicast Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication skills to interact with traders, developers, and stakeholders. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure trading environment. Proactive, self-motivated, and flexible with a positive attitude. Ability to work under demanding deadlines with changing priorities in a trading room environment Other Information: Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $83,800.00 - $154,300.00.
