The Center for Academic Success and Enrichment (CASE) seeks an Associate Director to be responsible for case management for student retention and success and supervising professional staff.
Supervise professional staff members in the department. Mentor, train and develop all staff under their supervision. Responsible for academic intervention support for Boston campus students. Meet with students for informational or drop-in appointments, providing relevant material about academic support. Work collaboratively and flexibly with faculty and staff to implement academic support; coordinate and problem solve with academic departments to ensure student support is implemented appropriately. Manage a cohort of students and provide support, solutions, and/or referrals as appropriate. Responsible for maintaining accurate and timely student case notes. Assist the department in managing, triaging and following up with students daily. Help assess, develop, and evaluate supports for students academically at-risk. Coordinate overall interdisciplinary plan of support of students. Foster self-advocacy in students to manage their academic personal responsibilities. Manage electronic and web-based data and file management. Support office-wide initiatives and represent CASE at university-sponsored events such as Open House, Commencement, Orientation and Admitted Students' Day. Create and facilitate workshops, pertinent to the academic success of students. Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean. Required:
Master's degree in higher education, counseling or a related field Minimum of four years of experience post-graduate school in a higher education setting that involves providing direct service to college students Previous supervisory experience required An understanding of the educational, cultural and social needs of a diverse student population (domestic and international student community) required Demonstrates the ability to work individually and as a member of a professional team, establishing strong working relationships across campus constituencies Ability to follow procedures and protocol established by supervisor Experience with Microsoft Office software Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong Interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information Physical Requirements:
Standing, sitting, manual dexterity, ability to move between offices and floors of buildings Ability to meet deadlines and perform well under pressure Ability to be physically in attendance at designated worksite during scheduled work hours and to work some evenings and weekends Normal range of vision and hearing (with or without correction) Ability to lift up to 5-10 lbs.
