This segment includes our Household & Personal Care and Specialty Additives product lines. The Household & Personal Care product line provides mineral-to-market products that serve consumer-oriented end markets including Pet Care, Personal Care, Fabric Care, Edible Oil, and Renewable Fuel Purification. Our Specialty Additives product line provides mineral-based technologies serving Paper, Packaging, Sealants & Adhesives, Paint & Coatings, Ceramics, Plastics, Food & Pharmaceutical markets.
Our
Engineered Solutions
segment offers advanced process technologies and solutions that are designed to improve our customers' manufacturing processes and projects. This segment includes our High-Temperature Technologies and Environmental & Infrastructure product lines. Our High-Temperature Technologies product line offers specially formulated blends and technologies primarily for Foundry and Steelmaking industries. Our Environmental & Infrastructure product line provides waterproofing, water purification, remediation and other fluid management technologies for critical projects for Remediation, Water Purification, and Infrastructure.

Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
American Colloid Company (ACC) a division of Minerals Technologies is one of the world's leading producers of bentonite clay. Bentonite's unique chemical structure gives it a diverse range of capabilities, enabling it to act as a thickener, sealant, binder, lubricant or absorption agent. The Company's principle markets include metal castings, pet products, oil and gas well drilling, industrial specialties and agriculture.
ACC currently has an opening for a Maintenance position located in its York, PA facility.
This is considered a safety sensitive position therefore will be subject to random drug testing as required.
Responsibilities
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Prioritizing with the site Self-Directed Work Team and the Plant Manager for planned, routine, or emergency maintenance repair to minimize production downtime and maximize production efficiency. Troubleshoots and repairs existing blowers, pumps, seals, valves, piping systems, fans, gear reducers, sprockets, chains, belts, bearings, screening systems, ductwork, motors, starters, wiring systems, thermal pneumatic and electronic instruments, thermocouples, circuit breakers, overloads, fuses, start-stop stations, etc. Performs preventive maintenance (PM) inspections and makes repairs of problems found during inspections. Recommends, initiates, and maintains the preventive maintenance programs. Applies skills in calibration/repair of process instrumentation such as temperature/pressure transmitters, temperature/pressure probes, flow measuring devices, solenoids, conductivity/pH meters, level transmitters, etc. Supervises outside contract labor as required, including scope of work planning. Perform proficiently in skilled tasks such as welding, brazing, wiring, etc. Recommends spare parts requirements and suggested inventory levels. Maintains inventory of all spare parts and initiates purchase orders, receiving and tracking of replacement parts. Maintains the Work Order systems as necessary to ensure a smooth transition to a centralized system, and permanent record of equipment history. Follows lubrication recommendations for all equipment on appropriate frequency. Works with the team to identify and implement recommendations resulting in improvements to the plant safety performance. Use of Operational Excellence (lean) techniques for continuous improvement as part of the plant team, including on-gong training. Helps drive Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) to drive the plant towards the highest level of performance. In addition to the above described duties, as part of a small team the maintenance technician may be requested to perform operation related duties to assist the plant team. OE/Lean
Actively supports and achieves Operational Excellence/lean goals and initiatives, including but not limited to 5S, inventory reduction, process flow mapping, value stream mapping, standard work, Kaizens, Total Productive Maintenance, etc. Leads team in a continuous improvement work environment. Supports quality teams and management with OE initiatives and actively suggests opportunities for improvements. Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma/GED required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Minimum5 years of professional experience (trades and factory equipment repair preferred ie. motors, augers, bucket elevators, etc.) Ability to trouble shoot Ability to identify hazards and mitigate them Able to cover first and second shifts, ability to be on call Welding, pneumatics, electrical, industrial systems, heavy equipment Forklift certified Basic computer and email skills Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Working Conditions:
Ability to work in a manufacturing facility, outdoors, high noise areas; lifting of weights above 50lbs
Work Hours:
6:00am - 2:30pm40Hrs/week +safety or productivity driven overtime
Safety Training:
Familiar with OSHA standards
