IT Business Analyst
The IT Business Analyst, reporting to the Director of Data Analytics and Technology Solutions, plays a key role in translating business needs into technical requirements and supporting the successful delivery of data and software solutions. Working across hybrid development teams and business stakeholders, this position contributes to the full lifecycle of product development from discovery and design through testing and deployment. Essential Job Functions: Translate business needs into detailed functional and technical specifications; develop process maps, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Participate in documentation reviews (e.g. project charters, SOWs, business requirements, change requests) process, ensuring requirement completeness, clarity, and alignment with business objectives. Support agile delivery, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and cross-functional coordination as needed. Ensure traceability of business requirements through design, development, testing, and release. Actively contribute to the development and enhancement of IT best practices, methodologies, and data governance; identify internal IT processes that require workflows or deeper dive analysis, and document appropriately. Identify and resolve issues and risks related to data and software products including cross-impact analysis and root cause documentation. Support the delivery of firmwide programs and technology solutions, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and end user needs; identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation opportunities. Partner with QA team to define test scenarios, review test results, and ensure adequate coverage for regression, performance, and user acceptance testing. Assist with vendor coordination given many projects will require collaboration with third-parties. Qualifications and Requirements: 3+ years of experience in business analysis, software development lifecycle, product management, or data analysis. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other Microsoft tools such as DevOps, Power Automate, Power BI, SharePoint, Visio. Familiarity with user experience principles and ability to contribute to the design of intuitive user interface. Understanding of SQL, data management concepts, tools, and technologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and meticulous attention to detail. Understanding of data governance best practices and documentation of data lineage or reporting definitions. Certifications such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), or Product Management. Experience with AI/ML projects and an understanding of user flows involving AI-driven insights. Experience with Azure DB, Elite 3E, Microsoft Fabric, ServiceNow.
