Senior Software Tester
SAIC is actively seeking a senior software tester to join the Army UAS Training Test team located in Huntsville, Alabama (Redstone Arsenal). This is a multi-disciplined team that covers a wide range of testing scopes, including testing physical and virtual network systems, software applications, and UAS control interfaces. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and switching gears supporting complex systems since this position will be working with multiple operating system types (Windows, Linux, etc.), networking architectures, and across multiple UAS platforms. Develops and executes test plans, test cases, and test procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet organizational standards and end-user requirements. Writes test cases and scripts and identifies data for test scenarios. Identifies and documents defects in software and/or IT systems. Works closely with the development team to resolve defects. Reviews test cases for accuracy against current publications, making corrections and updates where needed. Performs and leads tests of software and/or IT systems to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects. Performs verification activities on work products using defined methods, procedures, and criteria with an appropriate verification environment. Documents and communicates test results. Supports analysis of test results and resolution of open issues. Reports progress on problem resolution to management. Devises improvements to current procedures and develops models of possible future configurations. Occasionally performs other IT systems engineering activities such as requirements, design, installation, operation, sustainment, and support. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and five (5) years or more experience; Master's and three (3) years or more experience. Six (6) years relevant experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. Must have an active interim secret security clearance; must be able to obtain a secret security clearance. US citizenship required. Qualification in Gray Eagle MQ-1C UAS. 6+ years of UAS instructor operator experience. 100+ hours operating UAS trainers (Embedded Trainer-ET or Universal Mission Simulator-UMS). Ability to interact and work closely with the software development team to assist in acceptance criteria and test case review. Proficiency with Army Technical Manuals. Proficiency with MS Office products. Desired Skills: Experience in software systems testing, software development, or software integration. Familiarity with working in an Agile/SCRUM environment. Recency of flight: 12 hours as Aircraft Commander within the last 12 months. Experience developing testing criteria. MS Azure experience.
