Fleet Senior Technical Specialist

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. Position Summary The Fleet Senior Technical Specialist position is responsible for maintaining and enhancing FirstEnergy's M5 Fleet Management application. This will involve complex information technology (IT) tasks such as configuration management, access control, security, troubleshooting, and user education, in addition to ensuring the system's business as usual (BAU) operations. Key Responsibilities Upgrading and configuring the M5 application as needed including support of emergency updates. Create/Maintain M5 Process & Training Documents Provide training on existing and new M5 Processes as needed for new and or existing employees Contribute to business process design, ensuring business functional requirements and integrations points between systems are clearly and accurately identified and documented Support and assist with administration of other Fleet related systems internal (Sharepoint, Web Applications, etc.) and/or external vendor access administration for FirstEnergy Fleet employees. Troubleshooting the M5 system and providing technical support to employees. Understanding employee needs and enhancing the M5 system to support those needs. Performing regular security tests and security monitoring Maintaining data network(s) that integrate with M5 and network system files. Creating and managing system permissions and user accounts. Aggregate data from various sources, including telematics systems fuel management systems, fleet tracking tools, and ERP software. Ensure the accuracy and consistency of integrated data, aligning with utility compliance standards. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as system utilization/availability, system outage duration, etc Provide insights to improve fleet reliability, reduce outages, and enhance customer service responsiveness. Generate reports to demonstrate compliance and fleet performance to regulators and internal stakeholders. Stay updated on emerging fleet technologies, analytics tools, and industry trends. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field with a minimum of 10 years relevant work experience or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 12 years of relevant work experience will be required. Related experience includes: Data modeling, statistical analysis, scenario analysis, data forecasting, etc. Certification in Power BI, fleet telematics, or data analytics is a plus. Experience in fleet management, data analytics, or business administration preferably in the utility or transportation industries. Proven experience developing dashboards and reports in Power BI, with a focus on fleet or operational data. Familiarity with telematics systems, fuel management platforms, and fleet maintenance software used in utility operations is preferred, but not required. Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data modeling with the ability to query, join and manipulate complex data tables. Proficiency in SQL and Microsoft Excel for data extraction and analysis. Proficiency with ChatGPT is preferred. Knowledge of utility-specific fleet challenges, such as service truck optimization, emergency response, and environmental compliance is preferred, but not required.
