Senior Principal Systems Engineer - Endicott, NY

BAE Systems wants your systems engineering talent to develop complex system architectures and perform system design activities. As a systems architecture engineer, you will ensure successful technical execution of development and provide critical input to Systems Engineering discipline processes in support of the Controls and Avionics Solutions business area. Controls and Avionics Solutions provides flight and mission-critical products to more than 170 commercial and military customers around the world. Duties and responsibilities include: Perform systems engineering functions by developing, allocating, and managing complex system, hardware, and software requirements. Research and develop complex, safety critical, embedded control system designs and architectures. Define hardware, software, and programmable logic interfaces and functionality. Prepare and/or review documentation for system designs and architectures in accordance with established systems development processes and procedures. Perform system/product integration. Verify and validate moderately complex aspects of systems designs to ensure conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements. Produce and/or review technical documents, specifications, and standards. Support proposal development activities, including proposal text development, cost estimating, and presentation activities. May support various specialty-engineering tasks such as Reliability, Maintainability & Availability analysis, Integrated Logistics Support. Prepare and deliver customer and technical presentations. Candidates should possess strong communication skills both written and oral. Candidates should also demonstrate sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating, and negotiating with company personnel, customers, and suppliers. Required Education, Experience, & Skills: Bachelor's Degree in related engineering field. Experience leading the architecture, design, and integration of electronic control systems which include hardware, software, and programmable logic devices. 12 years of experience in avionics or electronic controls embedded development, including familiarity with systems such as flight controls, engine controls, or mission systems. Experience in full lifecycle development including system requirements, design, system-level integration, validation, and verification. Technical writing skills: capable of creating required engineering documentation. Pay Information: Full-Time Salary Range: $118504 - $201457.
