Shipping Clerk
Summary: The Warehouse Shipping Clerk follows established procedures to perform various duties related to the preparation of outbound shipments. The Warehouse Shipping Clerk verifies records of incoming and outgoing shipments and determines methods of shipment by utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare all shipping documents accurately and completely for FTL, LTL, and PTL shipments for the company fleet and commercial carriers. Perform any other job-related tasks as assigned. Set delivery appointments with customers before the ship date. Quote and book LTL (TMS: Transportation Management System) and FTL (Full Truckloads) email shipments. Prepares customs paperwork for Canada shipments. Ensure the shipping schedule is followed per the Master-Planned Production Schedule. Coordinate with warehouse loaders to ensure quick and proper loading of trucks. Review staging products for shipping. Obtain drivers’ signatures on all outbound documents. Participates in scheduling of daily transportation. Keep clients informed about the status of their order deliveries. Provide updates and minimize inconvenience if delays or unexpected situations arise. Communicate with departmental leaders about daily activities to help others within the organization remain informed and make educated decisions. Ensure compliance with customer shipping policies and procedures per routing guides. Generate packing slips and create labels for all pick tickets. Prepare USPS, UPS, FedEx, and other carrier shipment labels. Assists in responses to requests for tracing of shipments. Follow all safety and company policies and procedures, including maintaining good housekeeping, reporting any issues, accidents, or incidents immediately, and completing monthly safety training as assigned. Perform required administrative tasks, including preparing all required reports and correspondence. Work with third-party logistics to provide on-time and accurate delivery. Confirms accuracy of all proofs of delivery
Job Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Two years of related experience or equivalent. Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Commitment to excellence and high standards. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Ability to manage priorities and workflow. Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. Acute attention to detail and accuracy. Proficient in Microsoft Office, knowledge of SAP a plus. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
