We have an opportunity as a
Mechanical Field Service Representative (FSR)
for an OCONUS role in support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The successful Mechanical FSR candidate will direct complex projects involving advanced technical concepts through installation, checkout, systems tests, operation, maintenance, training, and logistics support to fulfill customer requirements. Supervise mechanical, electrical/electronic, aerostat, or IT personnel for operations and maintenance activities on the system, site, and support equipment. You will be an instrumental part of a highly technical team that provides management, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of ten 34-meter Aerostat systems, IT infrastructure, and VSAT communications for the operational sites and Training Center. This hands-on position requires an experienced individual to install, upgrade, patch, and manage software in a Microsoft Hyper-V environment. The FSR will work with and troubleshoot server hardware. Additional duties include backups, disaster recovery, updates, and other technology-driven solutions in a fast-paced, multi-site (node) environment.

Working Procedure: As an FSR, you will be deeply involved in the overall operation of the aerostat system. This includes participating in launch, in-flight, and recovery activities, as well as directing the maintenance of the mechanical, electrical/electronic aerostat equipment on the aerostat system and site.
Participate in all software and systems lifecycle phases, emphasizing system maintenance, configuration, integration, and information assurance. Interface with users to determine functional requirements for Ground Control System/Transportable Office Facility. Design, test, and develop systems and components to meet end-user needs. Document requirements, designs, test results, and procedures. Configure, install, test, and troubleshoot computer network components and equipment. Deliver quality performance metrics. Proactively manage capacity planning of all production hardware servers and storage. Analyze technical needs, requirements, and state of the server, storage, and virtualization infrastructure design, integration, and operations. Perform regular audits of IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance. Support LANs, WANs, network segments, and Internet and Systems. Lead efforts to configure Firewalls, routers, switches, and VPNs. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Perform mechanical, electrical/electronic, aerostat, or IT FSR to direct other technicians in performing selected operation and maintenance tasks. Proficient at a wide range of technician tasks, including using standard mechanical and electrical hand tools, mechanical disassembly/assembly, wiring, soldering, operating standard and unique test equipment, repairing aerostat fabric, and handling high-pressure gases Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical structures, aerostat structures, hydraulic systems, fiber optic components, avionics, and electrical components. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair ground systems such as generators, communication, and weather systems. Perform as a senior member of the aerostat flight crew for aerostat line handling, pre-and post-flight inspection, weather observation, helium toppings, snubbing, inflations/ deflations, and tether inspections; proficiency in all emergency procedures for both moored and airborne flight aerostat operations. Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on structural, hydraulic, electrical/electronic, aerostat, or IT equipment. Responsible for identifying field operational problems and developing solutions Operate all standard and unique test and support equipment, including any calibration and repair activities that can be performed at the site level. Conduct field tests, analyze data, and submit appropriate test reports. Install approved engineering change proposals, modifications, and upgrades Assist in accident investigations
Training/Travel Requirement: Training will be conducted in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, for approximately 2 weeks. Once training is complete, this position will deploy to Saudi Arabia. You MUST have an active U.S. Passport and pass a physical screening.
Education Requirement: A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is required, equivalent military training in a related discipline is required, or equivalent civilian education is needed. Experience Requirement:
Requires at least six years of hands-on experience in a functional ISR platform, with additional formal training. Cross-functional skills. Recognized subject matter expert (SME) on several systems. Ability to act independently. Lead lower-classified technicians of any skill set. You MUST have a current active DoD Secret Clearance.
