Position Overview
The RN CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room Nurse) is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures in the operating room. This includes assisting the surgical team during operations, ensuring a sterile and safe environment, and monitoring the patient's condition throughout the procedure.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to patients in the cardiovascular operating room. Assist the surgical team by preparing the operating room and equipment, ensuring sterility and readiness for procedures. Monitor patients' vital signs and status throughout cardiovascular procedures. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safety and success of surgeries. Administer medications and assist with the management of anesthesia, as directed by the anesthesiologist. Document patient care, surgical procedures, and outcomes accurately in the medical record. Ensure that all necessary instruments and supplies are available and properly functioning. Provide preoperative and postoperative education to patients and their families. Follow established policies, procedures, and best practices in all aspects of care.
Required Qualifications
Registered Nurse (RN) license. Experience in cardiovascular operating room nursing. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary surgical team. Strong attention to detail and ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations. Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in Cardiovascular Nursing (CVRN) or operating room nursing. Experience with cardiovascular surgeries and interventions. Advanced knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and surgical procedures.
