The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a Psychologist III - Forensic Evaluator to conduct court-ordered forensic evaluations, violence risk assessments, and competency assessments for patients at Dallas State Hospital, a premier Joint Commission-accredited psychiatric facility. Salary & Benefits Monthly Salary: $7,015.16 - $11,864.% paid health insurance for full-time employees Defined benefit pension plan (ERS Retirement) Paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays Tuition assistance and professional development Longevity pay and wellness programs Key Responsibilities Conduct competency evaluations (46B), violence risk assessments (46C), and other forensic evaluations under Texas law Provide expert witness testimony and consultation to courts and hospital staff Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support competency restoration and forensic programming Develop, oversee, and improve forensic psychological services in accordance with HHSC guidelines and legal standards Supervise and train graduate psychology trainees or other staff as assigned Maintain documentation, write clear forensic reports, and ensure regulatory compliance Support recovery-oriented and trauma-informed care across clinical and forensic services Qualifications Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited university Licensed as a Psychologist in Texas (or reciprocity state) 1+ year of supervised experience by a licensed psychologist 1+ year conducting forensic evaluations and psychological assessments in an inpatient setting 1+ year conducting individual and group therapy with forensic psychiatric populations How to Apply Apply online directly (copy & paste to browser):
