Responsibilities
- Provide newborn nursery care at OhioHealth Athens Hospital with NICU support from Pediatrix Neonatologists; no pediatric floor coverage required.
- Work 24-hour shifts of rounding plus offsite call.
- Perform circumcisions.
- Offer pediatric consultations to the emergency department, including assessments, recommendations, and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with a team of pediatric hospitalists and neonatologists to deliver coordinated patient care.
- Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives and clinical research projects.
- Exchange best practices with a large network of Pediatrix providers, including over 400 NICUs.

Qualifications
- Board Certified in Pediatrics required.
- Minimum of 1 year post-residency clinical experience required.
- Active Ohio or IMLC license preferred.
- Recent clinical experience within the last 12 months required.
Benefits and Compensation
Pediatrix covers travel expenses (flight, rental car, mileage, lodging) for those outside a commutable distance and malpractice insurance for this W-2 per diem position.
Per diem benefits include access to Employee Assistance programs. PTO, holiday, and other compensation are not provided for per diem team members.
