City of Hope Orange County: Breast Radiologist Position

City of Hope Orange County is redefining the boundaries of what's possible in cancer research and treatment. We're bringing access to our scientific expertise and highly specialized cancer care closer to home by building OC's only specialty cancer hospital at our comprehensive cancer campus in Irvine, California. Once open in late 2025, it will deepen our treatment capabilities and seamlessly connect to City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer, our NCI-designated - and OC's most advanced - cancer center. Surrounded by a regional network of care, the Irvine campus is a beacon of hope for the nation's sixth largest county.

The new hospital is the capstone of our 63-acre City of Hope Orange County campus. Unlike general hospitals, every team member at this specialty cancer hospital—from nurses to nutritionists to physicians—will focus solely on oncology.

Position Highlights

  1. Modalities: interpret mammography, ultrasound, and breast MRI, DEXA, and perform all breast-related procedures such as localization, ultrasound, stereotactic biopsies, MRI-guided biopsies
  2. Participate in clinical research trials such as I-SPY
  3. Work closely with other members of the breast care clinic. Regularly participate and present cases in weekly breast tumor boards and provide consultation for oncologists and surgeons
  4. Full-time position within an established team of radiologists and nurses at a world-renowned national cancer system. Leadership role available for the right candidate.
  5. Relocation assistance may be available
  6. Excellent benefits package, including a generous retirement contribution plan
  7. Base Salary Range: $475K-$525K based on rank, experience, and academic research. This range is for base compensation for full-time employment and does not include incentives or benefits, which are substantial. Actual compensation will be adjusted based on experience, training, hospital/community needs, and other factors.

Qualifications

  • In addition to breast imaging expertise, candidates should possess general radiology skills, including x-ray and ultrasound
  • Experience in an academic medical center or specialty cancer center is highly desirable
  • An academic record consistent with appointment as Assistant or early career Associate Professor is preferred
  • Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree
  • Must have or be willing to obtain U.S. NRC license
  • Must be eligible to obtain or already hold an active California medical license
