The role youll contribute:
Responsible for providing direct and indirect nursing care to groups of patients using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This position delivers patient-centered care by collaborating with physicians, patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care. Additionally, this role administers medications and treatments as prescribed, monitors patient responses, and adjusts care plans as needed. In addition, this position supervises and teaches other personnel in the theory and performance of nursing acts, ensuring compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations and accrediting body standards. Responsibilities for this role include maintaining high standards of care, promoting wellness, and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the healthcare team.

- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to gather data on health status and needs.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and medical diagnoses.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
- Monitor and evaluate patient responses to interventions, adjusting care plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Provide education and counseling to patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self-care strategies.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
- Document patient care activities, including assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes, accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to infection control policies and safety protocols.
- Respond promptly to life-threatening situations using established protocols and critical care skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's of Nursing Required.
- Work Experience Preferred
- Skills required to work in critical care area as defined by unit
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure Required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) Required
- Fundamentals of Critical Care Support (FCCS) Preferred
- Basic EKG Certification (BEKG) Preferred
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) Required
- Certified Critical Care Nurse (CCRN) Preferred
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) Preferred
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS) Preferred
- NonViolent Crisis Intervention Program (CPI) Preferred
- Neonatal Resuscitation Protocol (NRP) Preferred
- Neonatal Resuscitation Protocol Advanced (NRPA) Preferred
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support Preferred
- PALS INSTRC - PALS Instructor Preferred
- Annual Stroke Requirement Certification Preferred
