Job Description

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, testing, and inspecting electrical apparatus. The role may involve acting as a lead on projects and requires some technical supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and maintenance of electrical power distribution systems.
• Conduct troubleshooting, relay calibration, and use load recording instrumentation on low and medium voltage switchgear up to 15 kV.
• Test and troubleshoot electrical systems, relay systems, and power metering.
• Perform power system studies such as short circuit analysis and protective device coordination.
• Write detailed reports and process job billing accurately.
• Engage in equipment labeling projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Contribute to business development, including preparing proposals, estimates, and scope development.

Qualifications

• Educational background: BSEE/BSCME, technical school, military training, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years relevant work experience or 4 years with high school diploma.
• Knowledge of National Electrical Code, OSHA, NFPA standards.
• Passed NETA exam.
• Experience with switchgear testing up to 15 kV.
• Strong communication skills and computer proficiency.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and travel as needed.

Physical & Travel Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and move test sets up to 100 pounds.
• Valid drivers license required.
• Travel up to 50% or as needed.

This position is full-time, entry-level, and based in Pleasanton, CA, with an hourly pay range of $38.00 to $44.00. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, PTO, holiday pay, and 401k.
