Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pediatric Anesthesiologist to join our medical team (22 Anesthesiologists). The successful candidate will be responsible for administering anesthesia to all patients with a focus on infants, children, and adolescents undergoing surgical and medical procedures. The Pediatric Anesthesiologist will ensure the safety and comfort of young patients before, during, and after anesthesia.

Key Responsibilities:

Preoperative Assessment:

  • Conduct thorough preoperative evaluations of all patients with a focus on pediatric patients.

Review medical histories, allergies, and previous anesthesia experiences.

Discuss anesthesia plans with patients' families and address any concerns.

Anesthesia Administration:

  • Develop and implement anesthesia care plans tailored to each patient with a focus on pediatric patients.

Administer general, regional, or local anesthesia safely and effectively.

Monitor patients' vital signs and adjust anesthesia levels as needed during procedures.

Intraoperative Care:

  • Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other medical professionals to ensure optimal patient care.

Manage and treat any anesthesia-related complications that may arise during surgery.

Postoperative Care:

  • Oversee the recovery of patients from anesthesia.

Provide pain management and postoperative care instructions.

Monitor patients in the recovery room and address any immediate postoperative issues.

Emergency Response:

  • Respond promptly to any anesthesia-related emergencies.

Implement life-saving measures and stabilize patients as necessary.

Education and Training:

  • Educate patients' families about anesthesia procedures and postoperative care.

Participate in the training and mentoring of medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records of anesthesia care provided.

Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulations, and standards.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a residency in Anesthesiology.
  • Fellowship training in Pediatric Anesthesiology.
  • Board certification in Anesthesiology
  • Valid medical license to practice in Minnesota
  • Strong understanding of pediatric physiology and pharmacology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a pediatric hospital or specialized pediatric surgical center.

Advanced life support certification (PALS, ACLS).

Compensation:

  • $500,000. Hired candidates may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses, quality incentives or production-based compensation
