Join a dynamic team at the forefront of engineering innovation as a Controls Engineer. This role is integral to the design and implementation of cutting-edge conveyor systems, primarily within the automotive manufacturing sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of electrical engineers in the design and development of conveyor components and systems.
- Collaborate closely with project engineering teams to verify and ensure adherence to equipment specifications.
- Engage with electrical and software engineers, alongside vendors, during the product development lifecycle.
- Participate actively in design reviews and attend customer job-site meetings as required.
- Travel to customer sites, vendor locations, and manufacturing facilities to oversee project progress and conduct meetings.
- Provide technical support to project managers, equipment assemblers, and site supervisors.
- Develop and enhance CAD designs from initial concept through to final implementation.
- Assist in mechanical engineering and design tasks when needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Minimum of three years of experience in designing PLC systems, with a strong background in conveyor systems for automotive manufacturing.
- Familiarity with GM, Ford, and FCA electrical control standards.
- Proficiency in ePlan electrical design software.
- Experience with Allen Bradley Controls and Control RS Logix 5000.
- Knowledge of ArmorStart Motor Controllers and PowerFlex Drives.
- Understanding of DeviceNet and Ethernet communications.
- Skilled in PLC programming, including Control Logix and Guard Logix.
- Competence in PanelView programming for HMI interface development.
- Strong comprehension of 24V DC, 120V AC, 240V AC, and 480V AC electrical circuits, including single and three-phase systems.
- Expertise in VFD motor controls and automation systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical design and schematics.
- Excellent time management and prioritization abilities.
- Effective collaboration skills with customers, management, and project teams.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to travel within North America, including Mexico, up to 25% of the time.
