Black Rock Vision Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Optometrist to join our thriving, patient-centered practice in Reno, Nevada. As an integral part of our team, the Optometrist will perform comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose and manage ocular diseases, and provide exceptional care tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient. Our clinic specializes in advanced dry eye and glaucoma treatments, specialty contact lenses, low vision, and vision therapy. offering a unique opportunity to practice at the forefront of optometric care.
This is a full-time position (40 hours/week), no weekends, and the opportunity to practice in a collaborative and supportive environment.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Perform comprehensive eye exams for patients of all ages.
* Diagnose and manage ocular diseases, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.
* Provide specialty treatments, such as fitting scleral, RGP, and CRT lenses.
* Provide specialty treatments, such as working with our low vision patient population – in helping them with a full range of magnification solutions (digital/non-digital magnifiers, bioptic telescopes, etc.)
* Prescribe corrective lenses and educate patients on eyewear options.
* Co-manage surgical patients with local ophthalmologists.
* Maintain accurate and thorough patient records using our EHR system.
* Collaborate with a team of skilled professionals to enhance patient outcomes.
* Educate patients on preventive eye care, nutrition, and lifestyle factors influencing ocular health.
*Compensation and Benefits:*
* Competitive base salary with production bonuses. From current associate metric, expect to make north of $170k

* Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school.
* Active Nevada optometry license (or eligibility to obtain one).
* Strong clinical skills in medical optometry and primary eye care.
* Interest or experience in managing specialty contact lens (scleral) patients preferred.
