R&D Chemist
This position is a vital part of the research and innovation lab within the Food & Beverage division. The role involves conducting chemical and physical laboratory tests to support scientists in qualitative and quantitative analyses of various materials. Responsibilities include monitoring product quality to ensure compliance with standards and specifications, setting up and conducting chemical experiments, tests, and analyses using techniques such as chromatography, spectroscopy, physical and chemical separation techniques, and microscopy. Additionally, the role involves compiling and interpreting results of tests and analyses, providing technical support and assistance to chemists and engineers, preparing chemical solutions for products and processes following standardized formulas or creating experimental formulas, maintaining, cleaning, and sterilizing laboratory instruments and equipment, writing technical reports or preparing graphs and charts to document experimental results, and ordering and inventorying materials to maintain supplies.
Essential skills include proficiency in chemical, chemistry, and wet chemistry techniques, experience in laboratory and lab testing procedures, the ability to plan, execute, analyze, and report on lab-based experiments, strong documentation and technical writing skills, and proficiency in statistical analysis. Additional skills and qualifications include experience with chromatography, spectroscopy, and microscopy, and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
The work environment consists of a team of four members, with most spending some time in the lab. This role supports other innovation teams in the Food & Beverage division, involving interactions with a broader team. The position offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities to engage in multiple R&D projects.
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
