Extended Care Program Monitor
The International School of San Francisco is a PK-12 independent school in San Francisco. Founded in 1962, the school is a multicultural, multilingual educational institution with over 1,100 students across an urban campus in the heart of the city.
Position Overview:
The Extended Care Program Monitor will work directly with a group of 30+ students grade K to 5 to design, coordinate and deliver our school's after-school program. The Extended Care Program provides a safe, fun and caring environment for our students and acts as an extension of the school day.
Schedule:
- The position available during the school year is for approximately 30 hours per week.
- Lunch: 11:00 - 1:00
- Recesses: 1:30p - 2:30p
- After-school: 3:00 - 6:00
- The monitor will be working full time during our week long school breaks throughout the school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Active supervision of children indoor and outdoor
- Plan activities (sports, arts and crafts) with co-workers
- Communication with parents and staff
- Oversee schedules, arrival / dismissal of students
- Resolve any conflicts by implementing social emotional learning
- Set up, take down and clean up to ensure overall cleanliness of space
Qualifications:
- Enthusiastic, fast learner, proactive
- Team-worker with strong communication skills
- Experience working and developing age appropriate activities with children ages 5-10 preferred but not required
- Fluency in French is a plus but not required
- Eligible to work in the US
We offer $25/hr and a dynamic work environment. Live scan background and TB clearance required. Must be eligible to work in the US.
