Accounts Payable Specialist
Our client, a reputable non-profit organization, is in need for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team on a contract basis! In this role, you will play a key part in managing vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining compliance with company procedures. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and familiarity with accounts payable processes. Responsibilities include:
- Receive, review, and distribute vendor invoices in a timely manner.
- Verify approvals and accurately code invoices with cost elements and charge numbers in accordance with company policies.
- Process invoices through the accounting system and generate accounts payable payments, including checks, direct deposits, and wire transfers.
- Handle P-Card charges and ensure proper entry and processing.
- Maintain organized records of all accounts payable transactions for auditing and reporting purposes.
- Communicate with vendors and internal teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely payment.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies in all accounts payable activities.
- Assist in periodic reporting and reconciliation related to accounts payable.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to efficiency enhancements within the accounts payable function.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and best practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal teams.
- High level of integrity and professionalism in handling financial information.
