EP Lab Tech
Responsible for assisting the physician in performance of invasive electrophysiology procedures. Has basic knowledge of EP Lab equipment and the maintenance of it while administering direct/indirect care to patients undergoing invasive cardiac procedures. Provides direct and indirect care during established procedures and sedation for patients.
Minimum education required: Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), EP program graduate, Respiratory Therapist, Exercise Physiology, Paramedic, or Radiology Technologist.
Minimum experience required: 1 year EP, Healthcare Imaging, Exercise Physiology, Paramedic, Respiratory, or RN experience. No experience required if a graduate of a RCIS or EP program.
Minimum licensure/certification required by law: Based on healthcare experience (see above) applicable license required. If a graduate of RCIS or EP program, no license is required.
Additional qualifications: BCLS and ACLS required Must obtain RCIS/RCES within 24 months.
