PRN Radiology Tech
Sovah Martinsville is seeking a PRN Radiology Tech to perform various imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing patient history and physician's orders. Educating patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
- Preparing and administering contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitoring patient condition continually and reporting/responding to changes in status as appropriate.
- Preparing equipment and supplies. Selecting appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implementing safety standards and performing appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshooting, resolving, and/or reporting equipment malfunctions as necessary.
- Positioning patient and performing imaging procedure(s). Analyzing results and identifying issues with the quality of imaging results. Taking appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. Entering, transmitting and reporting scan results.
- Obtaining images with the portable units as deemed necessary on the floors and operating room as well as within the radiology department. (Registry Eligible Technologist must be accompanied by a registered technologist while in the Operating Room.)
- Observing radiology safety guidelines.
Minimum Education:
- Graduate or Registry Eligible Radiologic Technologist of an educational program in Radiologic Technology. Registry Eligible Technologist must be registered within three (3) months of graduation.
Required Skills:
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Proficient in diagnostic exams, fluoroscopy, and invasive procedures/exams.
- Knowledge of all diagnostic radiological equipment. Computer skills desired.
- Flexibility in adapting to changing work demands and priorities.
Required Certifications/Licenses:
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certified.
- Registered or Registry Eligible by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Minimum Work Experience:
- Previous clinical experience in Diagnostic Radiology desired.
